Biography

Aleksey Myakishev was born in 1971 in Kirov (formerly Vyatka), USSR. Since 1999, he has lived in Moscow, Russia.
1991 — he began working professionally as a photojournalist. He has collaborated with numerous Russian and foreign publications, including Russian Newsweek, Kommersant, Helsingin Sanomat, APU, Talouselama (Finland), etc.
1999 — Aleksey became a freelance photographer and began working on personal documentary projects dedicated to provincial Russia.
He is a Instructor of educational program Leica-Akademia.
Works have been exhibited in numerous collective and personal exhibitions in Russia, France, Germany, Canada, Italy, Czech Republic, and Austria.
Since 2015 — Ambassador for Bergger in Russia.
Since 2018 — Ambassador for Leica Camera Russia, M/Q System.
Since 2025 — member of the Noga Creative Union.
