Biography

Tatiana Plotnikova was born in Leningrad, USSR. Since 2022 lives between Saint Petersburg (Russia) and Jutland (Denmark).
Studied accounting and audit at St.Petersburg University of Economics and graphic design at St.Petersburg Polytechnical University.
Graduated from St.Petersburg Photojournalism Faculty in 2008 in Sergey Maximishin group; now — one of the curators of the Faculty.
In 2008-2015 worked for Russian Reporter magazine with director of photography Andrei Polikanov.
In 2013, she was named among PDN's 30 Emerging Photographers to Watch and won POYi 2013 Award of Excellence for Feature Picture Story and 2017 selected for TIME Lightbox list of up-andcoming women photojournalists around the world.
Since 2008 she has taught workshops on photojournalism, both in Russia and worldwide, include mentor at the Belarus Press Photo educational project with Andrei Polikanov (Director of photography Russian Reporter Magazine) and Yuri Kozyrev (Noor agency).
Published in numerous foreign publications such as Russian Reporter Magazine, New York Times, New York Times Lens Blog, Courrier International, Time, PDN magazine, Reporter (Ukraine), Forbes (Russia), Snob (Russia), Foto& Video (Russia), Autoportret (Poland). Books: 'One by one', Treemedia, 2020; 'Russian Reporter. Photography #01'; 'Collection 16 ½™ No9', The Claude Bernard University, Lion (France).
Participant of many exhibition projects in Russia and abroad: France, China, USA, Portugal, Spain, Finland, Burma, Cambodia, etc.
At present — an independent documentary photographer, videographer storyteller and mentor of photography, makes workshops and review at the international portfolio reviews widely.
Since 2023 ​​— member of the Noga Creative Union.
