According to the search in the scribe books of Yuri Saburov 7004 (1496) of the “Sovereign's land" it was recorded: "in Obonezhskaya pine, in Nikolsky pogost in Pudozhsky, .... the parish of Marfinskaya Isakova (Marfa-posadnitsa, widow of the Novgorod posadnik Isaac Boretsky), on Kolodozer, and in it 49 villages, arable land 44 obzhi with half a third". Almost 350 years later, according to the information contained in the "Farming economic description of state villages of Pudozhsky uyezd" as of 1843 there were 19 settlements within the Kolodozersky group system, which had 98 peasant households with a population of 610 people (302 men and 308 women), 36 rigs and 4 water mills, 136 horses and 239 cows, 198 sheep and 2 pigs.
During the period of Soviet economy and its subsequent decline, the exodus of young people to the big cities and the rigid reformatting of the country in the 90s, the once fertile region, according to local canons, became unprofitable and backwater.
This story is about new people, a new way of thinking, aspirations and hopes for a "bright" or at least stable future: for themselves, for local residents and, as an example, for all those, who are not indifferent to the fate of their fatherland.
The founding fathers of the Kolodozero community are already ascending to heaven one by one. Their names will remain in History as ascetics with a quiet mind and a fierce heart. But the temple, built by their hands, stands. It stands and waits for a meaningful continuation...
