Biography

Evgeny Kanaev was born in 1955 in Zelenodolsk not far from Kazan, USSR.
After finishing school, graduating from technical college and service in the army he worked at the shipyard for about 15 years. He graduated from the Polytechnic Institute by correspondence.
He started taking photographs when he was 16. Even being an amateur photographer, a member of the people’s photo studio in Zelenodolsk, he repeatedly published his photos in the only Soviet magazine about photography 'Sovetskoe foto'.
Since 1991, he worked as a photojournalist in the Tatarstan Yashlere regional youth newspaper.
From 2001 to the present day, he has been working as a photographer at the Tatenergo press-center.
Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Since 1991 — member of the Union of Russian Photo Artists.
Since 2015 — member of the Noga Creative Union.

2009 — 1st and 2nd prizes at the Territory of Victory Interregional Photo Contest, Russia.

1997 — Grand Prix at the Humor-Photo All-Russian Contest, Russia.
1994 — 2nd and 3rd prizes in two nominations in the Interfoto-95 All-Russian Contest, Russia.
