Simulacra and documentation
20 years of Noga Creative Union

In an era when reality is becoming increasingly elusive and images are becoming its simulacra, Noga Creative Union invites us to stop and reflect. What is documentary photography if not an attempt to capture the elusive truth? What is a frame if not a reflection of a world that has already disappeared the moment the shutter is pressed?
For 20 years, Noga has existed on the edge between the real and the imaginary, between fact and interpretation. 24 photographers, 24 views, 24 stories — each of which becomes part of a collective archive that not only documents but also creates a new reading of reality. The works of the members of the Noga Creative Union are not just testimonies, but also questions addressed to the viewer: what do we see? What do we want to see? And what is left behind?
The anniversary exhibition is not only a celebration but also a provocation. It reminds us that photography is not just a technique or art, but also a philosophy. Each frame is a simulacrum that both hides and reveals reality. Each author’s project is an attempt to experience this world that increasingly eludes our understanding.Come. Look. Doubt. After all, as Baudrillard said, ‘Photography is not what we see, but what we have to see’.
