Pierrot Men is a documentary photographer known for his work on the people of Madagascar. For over forty years, he has documented the daily lives of local people, focusing on both their everyday life and social conditions. His black and white images are characterised by an attention to detail and a desire to convey reality without over-dramatisation. Pierrot worked in his own laboratory, where he processed the photographs himself, allowing him complete control over the process of creating the images. His work not only documents life in Madagascar, but also reflects his personal view of a world where human beings remain at the centre of attention. Men’s photographs have become an important testament to Madagascan society, emphasising both its uniqueness and the universal traits that characterise humanity as a whole.
