Aleksey Myakishev was born in 1971 in Kirov (Vyatka), USSR.
Based in Moscow, Russia.
In 2025, the 25th member joined the Creative Union Noga — legendary documentary filmmaker Aleksey Myakishev. He gained worldwide fame for his photographs capturing the bright images of provincial Russia. For more than 30 years, Aleksey has been shooting scenes filled not with pretentious aesthetics, but with the intimate simplicity and beauty of people living on the periphery — where his search is crowned with the genuine truth of life in handmade prints. To mark the start of our collaboration, we return to the origins of his creative journey and present one of the author’s early projects, Vyatka, dedicated to his small homeland.
Vyatka Part 1
Yes, I believe that the Vyatka project has become a true visual portrait of an era. Or rather, it is a memory of times gone by. Twenty years have passed during this project was filmed. It is my memory and at the same time not mine.
